Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister György Bakondi said he believes the activities of the civil rescue ships are aimed at applying political pressure.

Speaking on Hungarian M1 television’s Friday evening current affairs program, Mr. Bakondi spoke about the fact that a few days after the trials of Sea Watch, ships loaded with more migrants are heading towards the coast of Italy from Libyan waters, despite the categorical ban imposed by the Italian authorities. “The goal is to awaken the will to help in the Europeans, and cause the Italian authorities to give ground and force them to loosen the regulations on the admittance of migrants”, he stated.

With relation to the fact that in the meantime certain European countries have suggested that they would be prepared to accept migrants, the Chief Security Advisor declared that the goal of this is to reintroduce the idea of quotas.
