On Friday in the Parliament Building Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén and Minister of State for Church Relations at the Prime Minister’s Office Miklós Soltész received Robert Singer, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President of the World Jewish Congress, who is currently in Budapest, Bertalan Havasi, Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

Robert Singer expressed his gratitude for the manifold support that the Hungarian government provides for Jewish communities living here.

The Vice President made specific mention of the good relations between Hungary and Israel, the press chief said, adding that Mr Semjén and Mr Soltész expressed the government’s intention to continue to help the activities of Jewish denominations in Hungary also in the future.

According to the communication, Robert Singer looks forward to the activities of the fourth Orbán Government with great anticipation, and on behalf of the World Jewish Congress he expressed readiness to extend maximum cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by András Heisler, President of the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities. He thanked the government for the grants provided in the past four years as well as for its cooperation, asking its representatives to continue cooperation in a similar spirit.
