The Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister hopes that the new European Parliament and new European Commission change the existing practice with relation to handling mass, illegal immigration, which is endangering European citizens.

Speaking on Hungarian M1 television’s Wednesday evening current affairs program, György Bakondi said that in his opinion we have arrived at a decisive turning-point thanks to the European Parliament elections.

“In contrast to the decisions made so far by the two-party majority, in future the European Parliament could work in accordance with broader compromises”, he added.

“As a result, the migration policy determined during the past five years by Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, Commission Vice-President Frans Timmermans and Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos, which has had serious consequences, could change”, he stated.
