The 2015 migration wave may reoccur at any time. The EU has not revised its migration policy since, and it is therefore up to the nation states to protect themselves, György Bakondi, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister said on Saturday evening on the public service television news channel M1.

Regrettably, the UN and the EU have adopted a strange point of view: they believe that migration is a fundamental right, meaning that anyone may cross borders at will without punishment, they need not respect the regulations of the countries concerned or the will of the people who live there, he said.

There will be EU elections next year, and it is to be hoped that a European Parliament and a European Commission different in their composition will stop the processes which are threatening the very existence of Europe, and will turn the hope of European citizens to live in security into a reality, Mr Bakondi added.
