In an interview with public television channel M1 on Thursday, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said that migration-related information at different ministries must be harmonised in order to enable Hungary to effectively represent its interests in Brussels. He was referring to the establishment of a working group on migration, announced by the Minister in charge of the Prime Minister’s Office.

Mr. Kovács added that in Brussels the matter is being treated as a humanitarian issue, but the EU is not concerned with security and law and order.

Talking about efforts aimed at strengthening the Hungarian processing industry, Mr. Kovács said that the Government wants to ensure that – in compliance with EU competition law – high-quality Hungarian products dominate the market. He pointed out that this has been achieved in a number of countries; therefore it could also be done in Hungary.
