According to the Prime Minister’s Chief Security Advisor, the security of the European Union cannot be guaranteed without the strict protection of the border.

Speaking on Hungarian M1 television’s Saturday evening current affairs program, György Bakondi said that more and more EU countries are questioning the current concept of the quota system, as a result of which the topic was not even discussed at the EU summit. “However, there are many security issues on which political-level decisions must be made, such as the joint European army and the supervision of external borders”, he added.

With relation to the latter he pointed out that the security of the EU is impossible without border protection, and the uncontrolled inflow of immigrants is not only undermining the security situation, but is also causing serious social problems, which are becoming increasingly difficult to solve. “In certain cities, public safety risks have also appeared because of criminal groups made up of immigrants”, he added.
